
At The University of Akron (UA), I was responsible for managing the University’s flagship social media accounts: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok. This involved managing a content calendar, creating/scheduling brand-aligned content, monitoring the social media sites and coordinating responses to comments, and tracking data to inform strategy.
In my two years at UA, I grew our follower base by more than 16,000, including the launch of a brand new platform from the ground up – TikTok.




















Additionally, I created social media guidelines, tools, policies, and best practices. I managed a team of departmental social media admins across campus and acted as a liaison to advise on content strategy, provide monthly training sessions, and encourage cross-promotion of news, services, and assets.
I also led a team of student assistants to assist with social media strategy and execution of plans, plus launched a social media student ambassador program to boost UGC.
